Here are a few things to remember as you head back to school...

-bring a travel toothbrush with you to keep in your backpack or locker

-make sure to brush after snacks and meals

-eat only braces-friendly foods

-wear your mouth guard when playing sports

-bring your rubber bands with you

-keep a retainer case in your backpack or wherever is most convenient for you

Summer is almost here and we at TS Orthodontics want to make sure that you have a fun and safe summer, especially when it comes to your smile! :) 

Here are a few things to remember to pack as you are making your summer vacation plans...

Recycled Toothbrush Bracelet

Earth Day is coming up this Sunday and here is a fun idea that we found from http://www.kaboose.com/ for recycling your old, plastic toothbrushes!

Make sure to have a parent or adult help with this craft and have fun!!

Turn your toothbrush into a unique recycled bracelet and watch your kids start a new fashion craze for Earth Day!

What you'll need:

Old toothbrush

Tweezers or pliers

Pot

Tongs

Large mug

Oven gloves

How to make it:

Remove all the bristles from the toothbrush with tweezers or pliers.

Boil water.

Keep water boiling, put toothbrush in water for five minutes.

Remove toothbrush with tongs, bend to desired shape.

If toothbrush doesn't bend enough, submerge again in water.

Remove brush and bend as much as possible.

Place bent toothbrush in bottom of mug to hold it's shape while it cools.

Pour cold water in mug and remove your new bracelet.

Tips:

This craft requires fishing the hot toothbrushes out of boiling water and bending them while they are still hot. Be sure to use a simple toothbrush for this, it seems the fancier, and more high tech the toothbrush the stronger, and more difficult to bend. We had luck with the classic REACH toothbrushes.
